Oats are a favourite breakfast option in the cooler months. A warm, thick, creamy bowl of oats, ALWAYS topped with a nut butter. We love combining it with the fruits of the season like blackberries and apples.
Preparation Time - 2 minutes
Cooking Time - 5 - 10 minutes
Servings - 1
For the Porridge:
½ an apple grated, peeled if desired; reserve the other half for on top
50g jumbo oats
250ml almond milk
¼ tsp cinnamon
1 tbsp of Lifeforce Almond Butter, smooth or crunchy
½ tbsp honey or maple syrup
For the toppings:
½ an apple
Handful of blackberries, fresh or frozen; I like to thaw and slightly warm through frozen berries!
1 tbsp Lifeforce Almond Butter, smooth or crunchy
Pumpkin seeds and toasted coconut flakes
Add all oat ingredients to a pot or bowl depending on whether or not you want to make these in the microwave.
Mix well and microwave for 2 - 2.5 minutes or place over a medium heat, bring to the boil and reduce to a simmer, stirring occasionally.
Leave to cook for 5 - 8 minutes depending on desired consistency.
Serve oats topped with almond butter, chopped apple, blackberries, seeds and coconut if desired.
